Nikolai Bulganin

Bulganin was a member of the Soviet government under Joseph Stalin and a member of the Communist Party Politburo.

In 1951, he attended dinner parties at Stalin's dacha with other high-ranking Politburo members which included Beria, Khrushchev, Malenkov, and Molotov.

Bulganin praised Stalin at these parties, and would drink with him and the rest of the Politburo out of fear of being suspected of hiding something. On one occassion, Bulganin was more inebriated than the others, and dared to disagree with one of Stalin's tirades. When Stalin boasted that the British and Americans would not dare attack the Soviet Union, Bulganin rebutted that they were ready to attack in 1945 with US Army General Patton advocating a war with the Soviet Union. Stalin simply responded that Patton was mad. (PROSE: Endgame)
