Orb (The Beast of Babylon)

An orb was a device that contained the power of a collapsed star in it. It could be used to shift a Starman into another dimension. It was invented by the Exalted Holgoroth of All Tagkhanastria, who intended to use it to form a space empire. Instead, it was stolen by the Ninth Doctor, who used it to send a Starman attacking Karkinos to the twenty-sixth dimension. However, when he used it, it created another, even stronger Starman, which headed for Earth. The orb was stolen by Ali, who pursuaded the Doctor to take her along. The Doctor defeated the second Starman by throwing the orb in its mouth, destroying the orb and sending the Starman away. (PROSE: The Beast of Babylon)
