Pheros was a planet of living metal. It was dominated by giant metal birds like Caw. Caw led the TARDIS to Pheros and tricked the Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones into going on a quest for the Infinite. Baltazar used the living metals of the planet to build himself a vast warship. (TV: The Infinite Quest)
