Po Chi Lam

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Po Chi Lam was a surgery and martial arts school in Guangzhou, run by Wong Kei-Ying. There, Kei-Ying plied his trade in traditional Chinese medicine and in addition, its grounds were also used for his gungfu school. The building consisted of a large central hall, from which two main wings split off, with the west wing serving as the surgery and the east wing serving as a small gungfu training hall. Most of the training, however, occurred in a courtyard outside.

In 1865, Kei-Ying brought an injured Ian Chesterton to the facility, along with his friends the First Doctor, Barbara Wright and Vicki Pallister. There, Ian was treated for his injuries, however they proved too great even for Key-Ying's capabilities, so Barbara and Vicki, along with Kei-Ying's son Wong Fei-Hung, were sent to retrieve some more advanced medical tools from The Doctor's TARDIS. Later, Po Chi Lam was put in the Doctor's temporary charge after Kei-Ying was taken in for questioning by the local British garrison at Xamian Island. (PROSE: The Eleventh Tiger)
