Bill Potts wore a t-shirt throughout the majority of the The Pilot [+]Loading...["The Pilot (TV story)"], as well as the entirety of the short Friend from the Future [+]Loading...["Friend from the Future (TV story)"], featuring the inner sleeve artwork from the Prince album Purple Rain. Like the rest of Bill's wardrobe, it was chosen personally by her actress, Pearl Mackie.
Incidentally, Friend from the Future was broadcast two days after Prince's death, something which was immediately picked up on by fans. Following the broadcast of The Pilot, Mackie revealed the tribute to be entirely coincidental, going on to admit that "it [felt] like quite a nice sort of homage though – even if it was accidental".[1]
