Renval was an inhabitant of Asphya. He met with the Sixth Doctor and Sarra Vanser and told him about Erys and the drachee, how they harass them. He lost his brother to Erys. He later collapsed when he entered the TARDIS. He was an avatar so he wasn't real. Renval was killed by Erys. (AUDIO: The Brood of Erys)
