Sala was a slave aboard the spaceship of the Krattorian Kest, as well as the niece of Andor.
Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]
In February 2065, when Kest's ship landed on Skaro his slaves were sent out onto its surface to collect sand. However, Kest's ship's instruments soon ran into difficulties due to the magnetic properties of the sand, which was actually a defensive measure of the hidden Dalek City. Sala identified this as their chance of escape and enlisted Astolith to help. Astolith concurred and they conspired to storm the ship using the slaves' greater numbers after they had all rested, though their scheming was overheard by Andor who betrayed them by reporting the plan to Kest.
While taking a stroll outside the ship during said rest, Sala was ambushed by Daleks which emerged from the sands and was taken prisoner. Brought before the Golden Emperor, he claimed to have learnt of her plight and expressed a desire to help Sala overthrow her masters. Together, they concocted a plan to lure the Krattorians from the ship and Sala later returned, revealing to Kest she knew the reason for the interference affecting the ship and claiming that if she did not tell him they would all die because "a power almost ready to destroy" them was outside. Kest was sufficiently intrigued and accompanied Sala and Astolith with a couple of guards into the mountains, where Sala believed the Daleks to be waiting. The Daleks had no intention of helping her, however, and instead massacred the remaining Krattorian guards and stole Kest's ship. When Kest happened to discover this by looking back, he accused Sala of tricking him and threatened Astolith with her life if he did not tell him what was going on. He responded by forcing one of the guards from the cliff where they stood to his death and Sala followed suit by pushing Kest and sending him tumbling the mountain, albeit without fatal injuries.
Sala commented that she and Astolith "should have done that a long time ago" before they turned their attention to the Daleks, gaining easy access to the Dalek City without being spotted thanks to Sala's prior visit. From afar they watched as the captured Kest offered the Daleks the secrets of space flight in exchange for the opportunity to see his two most troublesome slaves destroyed in front of him. They successfully evaded the Daleks for two hours before circling around and re-entering Kest's ship via an open escape hatch. Sala proceeded to prepare the ship's stations for immediate take-off while Astolith freed the other slaves, whom the Daleks had kept imprisoned. Sala and the others then flew on to freedom, with the destruction caused by the blast off killing Kest, Andor and a few Daleks. (COMIC: Power Play)
