Sanderson & Grainger

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Sanderson & Grainger was a department store in Colchester, at which the Eleventh Doctor once briefly worked in 2011.

The shop housed a Petrichor advertisement, with Amy Pond as its model. It was located directly over a small Cyberman base and was infested by a "silver rat", in reality a cybermat. The Cybermen there were culling the store's staff, whose body parts were then cyber-converted.

Other workers there included Shona, Kelly, George and Val. (TV: Closing Time) Jeff Green was the manager. (PROSE: The Fantastic, Fabulous Gallery of Characters That Nearly Made It Into Closing Time but Didn't for Some Reason)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

The building on the far right of the frame was given "Sanderson & Grainger" branding during filming, but isn't visible in the final cut.
  • Sanderson & Grainger nearly made it into the 1925 Soho setting of one scene of The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"]; during filming, Wards Solicitors was given set dressing to appear as a branch of Sanderson & Grainger,[1] however the sign situated in the black marble doorframe was never visible in the final cut. Ironically, the metal letters that made up the Wards Solicitors sign on the side of the building did partially make it into the episode.
