A seamstress was someone who mended or sewed clothes for a living.

Rosa Parks was a seamstress in Montgomery, Alabama. She had wanted to be a teacher when she was younger, but ended up becoming a seamstress due to the ill health of her grandmother and mother. Arla Decanto was one of Peladon's last great seamstresses. She was mentored in for the role by seamstress Keppy Devoni. She was employed by Barok to make a Cloak of Coronation for the King and was assisted by the Eighth Doctor, who initially claimed to be her new apprentice before implying that he worked for Barok.
