Sewa Singh (2012-2094) was a scientist responsible for assessing the quality of the bearings that held the artificial planet Kuppam in place.
The bearings around Kuppam broke and Kuppam was destroyed, resulting in the death of 50,595 people. The Earth authorities blamed Singh for the deaths and United Nations officials were dispatched to bring him back to Earth to stand trial. Due to a medical condition, Singh's lifespan would be significantly reduced if he returned to the higher gravity planet from his home on the Moon. Singh decided to end his own life by walking on the lunar surface with a space suit that only had a limited oxygen supply, thus committing suicide and avoiding the slow painful death that he would face on Earth.
