In an alternate timeline, Commander Skaak mounted a white horse while fighting against the Light Division led by Lieutenant General Logan during the Crimean War at Sevastopol in 1855. Skaak revealed to the Thirteenth Doctor that the reason he had the Sontarans fight during this war was because it was a period in human history where fighting on horse-back was used and he had wanted to ride a horse.
