The South Gate was one of four monolithic gateways at cardinal points of the City of the Saved which led to the no-space outside the City. It was a gathering point for the desperate, (PROSE: God Encompasses, Stranger Tales of the City linking material) some of whom jumped through the Gate as a form of suicide within the invulnerability protocols. The expense of retrieving jumpers from no-space eventually caused the City Council to install a safety-net the size of Earth's orbit in the Gate's frame. (PROSE: God Encompasses)
