I'm not actually certain where we got that bit about the caretaker going missing before the Seventh Doctor comes along in ''[[Remembrance of the Daleks (TV story)|Remembrance]]''. It doesn't seem to be said in ''Remembrance'' itself, and I checked and saw nothing in ''[[Who Killed Kennedy (novel)|Who Killed Kennedy]]''.
