It could conceivably remove the Y chromosome and only use the X since only one X chromosome is activated in women anyway. It would have been more troubling if he was a Time Lady and produced a male offspring alone.

:::It wouldn't be all that bed then, either, as a Y chromosome is really a broken X chromosome. Plus, we don't know that Gallifreyans/Time Lords have the same genetic means of sexual identity as humans. Heck, the Doctor himself could have become female, according to [[Night of the Doctor]].
