:Not really. They were brought there with the spores in the books. So, they're native to the Planet of the Book-Maker or something, and they're an introduced species on The Library. -<Azes13 15:17, 8 February 2009 (UTC) | :Not really. ::I think the show is actually a little unclear on the subject. | ::I think the show is actually a little unclear on the subject. The Vashta Nerada declare the Library as their home/homeworld, and the Doctor concludes that they have been living in the books, which were pulped from the trees the Vashta Nerada came from.
::After that, it is silent on the subject. | ::After that, it is silent on the subject. But here's what tips it for me: The Library is covered in metallic buildings, made out of inorganic materials. The only non-living organic things we saw were the books, and the only living plants that are likely to be found in any numbers on the Library are probably decorative. All of this is to say, there don't seem to be any trees left on the world, meaning they were cut down. What would they have been used for? Almost certainly the books. Why import everything needed to build the Library while simultaneously exporting those same materials when they occur naturally on the planet?--TheOmnius 23:46, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
:::It actually just occurred to me that with the construction date of the Library being in the 50th Century, and the Vashta Nerada's presence on modern Earth, my logic suffers a setback, as the import/export is no longer simultaneous.--TheOmnius 23:52, 8 February 2009 (UTC) | :::It actually just occurred to me that with the construction date of the Library being in the 50th Century, and the Vashta Nerada's presence on modern Earth, my logic suffers a setback, as the import/export is no longer simultaneous.--TheOmnius 23:52, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
:::Didn't they say that the core of the planet was the computer's memory core? Since we're seen the core, and that everything around it is the computer, wouldn't that imply that the planet was artificially created?
