She told Jack that he was chosen to complete the handover as he didn't care for the children, and that if he didn't exchange the children for a flu antivirus, the flu strain would mutate and kill [[25000000 (number)|twenty-five million]]. She accompanied Jack to [[Holly Tree Lodge]], where he collected the twelve children including [[Clement McDonald]]. Stationed in a nearby [[British Army]] vehicle, Vanessa witnessed the children, bar Clem, walking into a bright [[light]] as they were taken. Following the handover, Vanessa received the vaccine information on the 456 [[radio]] frequency.
