The '''American Sergeant''' was stationed at the [[Snowcap]] South Pole Base in [[December]] [[1986]]. He was responsible for apprehending the [[First Doctor]], [[Ben Jackson|Ben]] and [[Polly Wright|Polly]] when they were found outside the base. A short time later, while attempting to gain entry to the [[The Doctor's TARDIS|TARDIS]], the Sergeant and two of his colleagues were attacked and killed by three [[Cybermen]].
