Spun was a magazine. A 2004 retrospective on Bowie's career by Arven Jones in the magazine stated that Low was Bowie's single greatest achievement. Jones claimed to have heard third generation copies of the original recordings in a Walthamstow garage, played to him by "an odd bag lady in a funny hat, who produced them on reels from a Morrison's carrier bag". This caused fan uproar, with the magazine being inundated with letters and emails. Spun responded with a statement that the recordings were earlier takes of the same songs from Low. However, conspiracy theorists believed this was a cover-up by the magazine's editor. (PROSE: Low/Profile [+]Loading...["Low/Profile (short story)"])
