Page renaming proposal[[edit source]]
I think this page should be called Elisabeth of Austria rather than Elisabeth of Bavaria. The only reference on the page is dated 1873. At that time she was already married to the Emperor of Austria and carried many titles, cf. Empress Elisabeth of Austria in Wikipedia, but Elisabeth of Bavaria was not her title anymore. At any rate, it was not the main title of her life. It also does not help disambiguate her from the scores of other royal Elisabeths. Amorkuz ☎ 22:06, December 9, 2015 (UTC)
- Is "of Austria" given in the story, though? If we don't have a source for that name, maybe simply Elisabeth (The Silver Turk) would be the alternative.
× SOTO (☎/✍/↯) 18:23, December 19, 2015 (UTC)- Instead of explaining my logic, let me start with an alternative suggestion that may solve all these problems. Why don't we call the page Sisi? First, this name is unique and corresponds to only one person in both DWU and the real world. So no "(The Silver Turk)" will be necessary. Second, she is called that in the play. Perhaps, not in more than 50% of the cases but definitely many times.
- Having said that, "of Austria" can be inferred from the text. (I believe there was some precedent regarding Princess Di being the Princess of Wales.) Sisi is explicitly called the Empress. And it is established that they are all in Austria. So she must be the empress of this country. This also happens to be (one of) her real-world titles, which made it an attractive choice. Still I now think that Sisi is better. Amorkuz ☎ 21:48, December 19, 2015 (UTC)
UPD: The name of the page should definitely be Sisi as per the policy of using the most common name. In the play, Elisabeth is only used twice, whereas Sisi is used 7 times. Amorkuz ☎ 19:52, April 25, 2016 (UTC)
