Talk:Etra Prime incident

Discussion page

Rename[[edit source]]

A previous edit would seem to suggest the name comes from the Doctor Who Annual 2006. I seem to recall this incident being referred to in one of the Gallifrey (audio series) or possibly even a later main range story. --Tangerineduel / talk 15:09, March 16, 2013 (UTC)

Even if this is the case, the lead almost certainly has its basis the annual and it needs to be rewritten.

Others claim that the Etra Prime Incident began the escalation of events. But whatever the cause — and it's almost certain that the full story has yet to be uncovered — the [Time] War began.Russell T Davies (pp. 20-21) [Doctor Who Annual 2006 [src]]

Also, according to its website, Big Finish are not permitted to use elements linked to the revival series, including the Time War, so, even considering the story was years before Eccleston, they couldn't have mentioned it in The Apocalypse Element. -- Tybort (talk page) 17:08, March 16, 2013 (UTC)
Deleting article. Appears to be retroactively using a name in an annual to describe an event in an audio that preceded the annual by years.

This seems to have been recreated at some point since the above comment with no note made of it here, perhaps as a result of the term popping up again in the novel A Brief History of Time Lords, but I'll put on record my vague confusion at CzechOut's previous rationale above, specifically the "preceded the annual by years" bit. Surely a later work naming a concept from an earlier one, leading to us covering events from the earlier work on a page named after the later work, is nothing new. --Scrooge MacDuck 18:54, March 31, 2020 (UTC)
