Daughter?[[edit source]]

Charles II didn't have a daughter named Matilda (that we know about, although he did have an awful lot of illegitimate children). The character is simply credited as "Charles", which to me suggests that the character was indeed inspired by "the II", but is not definitively the person depicted. Even if it was Charles II, it would seem safer to assume Matilda was one of his many mistresses rather than a daughter unknown to history. 184.77.159.253 19:39, May 2, 2011 (UTC)

It does mention that he was imprisoned at the King's personal request. I'm sure it was intended in this manner.----Skittles the hog--Talk 19:42, May 2, 2011 (UTC)

I agree with the IP editor to the extent that there is absolutely nothing in RW history or DWU history to suggest that Matilda was Charles' daughter. I'd also have to concur that there is absolutely nothing to indicate this is Charles II of England. It's not exactly like Charles is an uncommon monarchical name. We do know, from Amy's dialogue, that this is at least a King, which narrows things somewhat. But we don't have a date, a country, or anything that can really narrow it down for us. I'm heavily editing this article.
