Missing episode[[edit source]]
The following statement is from the lead:
- " In a sense, then, Planet of Giants was the first serial to have a missing episode."
Sounds to me more like a bunch of deleted scenes. If I understand correctly, the broadcast episode 3 consisted of material from both of the original episodes 3 and 4. The cut material was never released as part of the story, or as an actual episode, so how can there be a missing episode? Shambala108 ☎ 03:53, December 17, 2014 (UTC)'
- Yes, I would agree. A missing episode is an episode that was broadcast but later lost. For instance, if the the pilot of An Unearthly Child (TV story) got lost, would this pilot be then a missing episode? I don't think so.Amorkuz ☎ 21:53, November 17, 2015 (UTC)
And I've removed it again. To quote from the page Missing episode, a missing episode is "a televised episode of Doctor Who which no longer exists in its entirety. It is distinct from an episode which was never made." (bold and italics mine) Anything that wasn't televised doesn't count. If this sentence is added back, it will again be removed.
