Eighth Doctor Adventures[[edit source]]

Considering that Romana is still the Romana played by Lalla Ward (along with Gallifrey being gone in contemporary novels), can this actually be said to follow or "coincide" with EDA novel continuity simply because it has a President Romana who has left E-Space with a functional K9? -- Tybort (talk page) 01:58, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

As far as the EDA are concerned, it can't take place early in Eight's life, as Flavia is President there. However, some people suggest a possible gap between Interference - Book Two and The Blue Angel.

Meanwhile, the BFA's throw up another problem as in this continuity Shada is said to take place before Storm Warning (audio story). However, in Storm Warning the Eighth Doctor mentions meeting Mary Shelley. It is however later revealed that the Eighth Doctor travelled with Samson Griffin and Gemma Griffin, dropped them off, met Mary Shelley (Mary's Story (audio story), travelled with Mary, then dropped her off and picked up Samson and Gemma again, which leads directly into Storm Warning. However, the Doctor also recalls his adventures with Mary Shelley in Shada. It can't take place before he met Samson and Gemma as he wouldn't remember Mary yet, but it can't take place after Mary but before Storm Warning where he remembers Mary as well. I haven't listened to Mary's Story, but I don't know if that's really referring to the same event (the Shada reference is so throwaway that I can't verify it off the top of my head). -- Tybort (talk page) 09:01, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

Another possible EDA gap is at the end of Seeing I, where the Doctor goes to return Savar's eyes to Gallifrey alone. When he returns for Sam he tells her that he had had other adventures, yet doesn't specify what they are.

Another big BFA problem(which someone pointed out on another discussion page) is that in Shada it is the first time that Romana II sees the Eighth Doctor, yet in Neverland (audio story) it is the first time that Romana II sees the Eighth Doctor.

Ultimately, while a co-production between the BBC and Big Finish, Shada was made after both had established continuities(that were actually said to be separate to each other, as in Zagreus (audio story)), and there are difficulties and continuity issues trying to fit it into either one.
