Proposed Deletion[[edit source]]
I've added a proposed deletion tag because this particular Susan is just the Susan Foreman of N-Space that experiences an event that then gets erased from history and leaves her with no memory of it.
As far as I understand, alternate timeline versions of characters/objects/places etc only warrant having a separate page from their "normal" versions if they are significantly different. For example, we have Rose Tyler and Rose Tyler (Sea Devil Earth), to differentiate between the "original" Rose Tyler and a counterpart of herself from the alternate timeline of Alternating Current, as the two versions of Rose have radically different backstories, and even end up becoming two completely distinct individuals. By contrast, we wouldn't have a page called, say, Davros (From the Flames), as that "version" of Davros is from an alternate timeline where the N-Space Davros dies before creating the Daleks. He is "born", if you will, from his death; there is no indication that his life before that point was any different to the N-Space Davros, nothing happens to him after this change in history, and that timeline gets erased anyway, thereby erasing this alternate Davros from existence.
A more simpler way of explaining it is this: alternate timeline versions of things can only have a unique page from their "prime timeline" counterparts if they are significantly different. If they're effectively identical up to a certain point, and aren't developed any further beyond that point, there's no reason to create a separate page. Alternate universe versions of things, however, generally get their own pages automatically, because unless stated otherwise, alternate universes have entirely separate histories from other universes.
I hope this explains my point clearly. Thalek Prime Overseer ☎ 01:11, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- The way I see it, Susan in Supremacy of the Cybermen is like the "versions" of the Eleventh Doctor and Clara Oswald in Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS; despite being from a timeline that was eventually undone, they're still essentially the same individuals as their earlier selves, so they don't get new pages.
- So, I don't see why Susan should be treated any differently, unless more evidence is provided to say otherwise. 01:37, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- This is definitely not distinct or meaty enough to go anywhere but Susan Foreman#Alternate timelines. As a rule of thumb (there are exceptions, of course), if there's no more to say on the separate page than what can already be stated on the prime version's "Alternate timelines" subsection, it's not worth creating a separate page for the alternate-timeline version.
- All that being said, the proper tag here would have been a {{merge}} tag, not a deletion one. Accordingly the page will be merged back into Susan Foreman.
- Oh, and by the way, this page was at the wrong pagename in the first place — it should, if anything, have been Susan Foreman (Prologue: The First Doctor). Scrooge MacDuck ⊕ 23:57, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
