Validity & Hologram Nature[[edit source]]

Why this page is marked as invalid? As far as I can tell, Who Can It Be Now? hasn't been disqualified as a valid source.

Also, I didn't play super far into the game so I don't know if this gets contradicted somewhere further in, but my impression was that most if not all of the named crew members are non-holographic and that they were pulled into the holodeck simulation from outside (T'Ana's "introduction scene" from the main game certainly seems to imply she's among the flesh-and-blood part of the complement). I don't know why @Danniesen added {{invalid}}. Strange, seeing as no other pages are invalid. 13:55, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
Yeah, I was very much confused when the invalid tag was added (I've removed it, as I see no reason for it to be invalid). As for whether she's a simulation, I dunno, I didn't retain much information from the main game (mainly as I didn't really care). If the current information is incorrect, do feel free to fix it though. Cookieboy 2005 14:00, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
I added the tag because T'Ana does not appear in the story itself. The character is only presented as a Character Card for a Simulation, which are not part of the actual story. Danniesen 14:47, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
T'Ana is part of the main story of The Badgey Directive, but we don’t cover the story of the entire game, only the event that is related to Doctor Who, in which, as I said, the character does not appear within any story elements. Danniesen 14:50, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
Well I gathered from the WCIBN? page that we were covering the simulations seen in the event as part of the source - if we didn't consider her part of the source, we outright wouldn't have a page for her. Cookieboy 2005 15:44, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
She’s part of the game, just not part of the story. That alone is grounds for a page. Just not a valid one. Hence why I moved stuff pertaining to her to the "real world" sections. Danniesen 15:47, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
If she's considered part of the "game" "Who Can It Be Now?", she should have a valid page. We do not cover The Badgey Directive outside of potential NOTCOVERED coverage, which wouldn't be grounds for a page on its own. Cookieboy 2005 15:50, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
We do not cover the game outside of the event, but she is part of the event. Just not part of the story. Game-play, but not storyline. So yes, she should be covered. Just not in a valid sense. This is the way I’ve known to do it. Danniesen 16:14, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
That... makes absolutely no sense to me. The event is valid, and if we consider her part of the event we're covering, her page will be valid. I see no world where she'd have a page, and it would be invalid. Cookieboy 2005 16:17, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
Gameplay is valid, in a case like this. We operationalise gameplay/story separation when the gameplay isn't meant to constitute fiction — e.g. the candy-crush shenanigans of the old Legacy/Infinity stuff — but if characters are appearing, it doesn't sound like this is that. --Scrooge MacDuck 16:22, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
Hmm… it is possible that I’m being influenced by the old ways we did things back on FANDOM several years back. Danniesen 16:46, 11 August 2024 (UTC)

Hologram nature[[edit source]]

This question doesn't seem to have been fully answered: are the characters holograms/simulations/etc.? I initially believed so, but I'm now unsure. Cookieboy 2005 14:08, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

After browsing some of the reposted introduction scenes on the subreddit, I'm fairly confident that at least the crew of the Cerritos (plus some others) are all "real", whereas historical figures like Zefram Cochrane are holograms. Here's how T'Ana gets introduced in the main game, for the record. Look-a-troopa 15:37, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
