Licensing[[edit source]]
I don't really understand how BBV had a license to use Ace? It doesn't seem to explain this on the page, could anyone fill me in? DrWHOCorrieFan ☎ 20:43, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- They did not, any more than they had the license to the Seventh Doctor. The pretense is that in this series, Sophie Aldred simply happens to be playing a different woman named Ace, in much the same way that in Adventures in a Pocket Universe, Lalla Ward purportedly plays some entirely unrelated blond time-traveller with a K9 unit from Romana II. It was to make this excuse slightly less comically thin that they eventually gave her a birth name of Alice, as opposed to the BBC Ace's "Dorothy", and gave her additional backstory not really congruent with The Curse of Fenric.
- (Accordingly, Ace (Republica) redirects to Alice and she should not be acknowledged as the same character as the BBC Ace in the main namespace.) Scrooge MacDuck ⊕ 20:47, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
