Where does this term come from? Is it in any official source, or is this just a thing we've invented to get around the UNIT dating controversy? If it's the latter, it should be abolished. There can't logically be a "UNIT era", as that implies UNIT's days are over. Which clearly they're not. CzechOut ☎ | ✍ 03:31, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
I was confused as well when i first saw a unit era link i think it just refers to the pertwee stories where hes stuck on earth but then it kept popping up with any story involving unit and since they are still around (present day and in the future) which would mean that from the 70s to present is still part of the unit era as they keep appearing. originally i think it was used as i have said to discribe the time that the Third doctor was stuck on earth but since then has been used whenever a unit story appears Dark Lord Xander 05:30, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- It definitely should be abolished. I've had a look around, at first I thought it was Lance Parkin's AHistory, but he just numbers them 'UNIT Year 1' etc (the Virgin edition is also just as vague with the UNIT stories being listed as 1970s (UNIT), the BBC has a small discussion on the TV stories Dating the UNIT stories.
- This page should be removed and redirected either to the 1970s page or the UNIT dating controversy page (whichever one people think is more appropiate until we can get around to editing each page to a specific date). --Tangerineduel 07:42, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
