The Bash Street Kids is a long-running children's comic strip series printed in The Beano. As with the majority of series published in the magazine, it is set in the magazine-wide setting of Beanotown. The series has gained several spinoffs, such as Time for Toots and The Bash Street Pups.
The series principally stars the titular main characters of the Bash Street Kids, a group of children who are taught in Class 2B of Bash Street School. Members of the original Bash Street Kids are 'Erbert, Fatty, Plug, Sidney, Smiffy, Spotty, Toots, Wilfrid, and Danny, along with their fellow student Cuthbert Cringeworthy, their teacher, aptly named Teacher, and the school cook Olive.
Crossovers[[edit] | [edit source]]
The series has several crossovers with the Doctor Who universe across various publications.
The first of these crossovers occurred in the 60-page comic story The Totally Stonking, Surprisingly Educational And Utterly Mindboggling Comic Relief Comic [+]Loading...["The Totally Stonking, Surprisingly Educational And Utterly Mindboggling Comic Relief Comic (comic story)"], where various members of the Bash Street Kids appeared as participants in Red Nose Day 1991, along with an appearance by Teacher, while several incarnations of the Doctor, their companions, and the TARDIS appeared elsewhere in the comic.
Following this, the first issue of BeanoMAX was released as a Comic Relief special, officially crossing the DWU over with several strips published in The Beano. A Dalek appears at Bash Street School in The Invasion of Bash Street [+]Loading...["The Invasion of Bash Street (comic story)"], with appearances by several characters from The Bash Street Kids, who meet and interact with the Dalek and the Tenth Doctor, with the Dalek being defeated by Olive's cooking. Jonathan Ross briefly encounters the Dalek in this strip, leading its events to be referenced in Dennis meets Jonathan Ross [+]Loading...["Dennis meets Jonathan Ross (comic story)"].

References to the Doctor Who universe in The Bash Street Kids[[edit] | [edit source]]
Some appearances by The Bash Street Kids characters in other Beano strips have occurred alongside references to the Doctor Who universe.
Several members of the Bash Street Kids were featured on the cover art of The Beano #3695, an anniversary issue, which depicted a single scene also involving a Dalek. Specifically, Sidney was depicted shooting peas at the Dalek.
Several characters from the series were among the Beano characters who made appearances in the Bananaman strip published in The Beano #3869, which had various characters be arrested by Dalek-like post boxes. Although their capture was not seen, their presence in the prison heavily suggested that they was captured by them.
One instalment in the spinoff series Time for Toots featured the Twelfth Doctor attempting to recruit Toots as his new companion, although she believe she's better at making people run away and scream, chasing the Doctor in a Dalek costume.
The Bash Street Kids instalment published in The Beano #4213 featured the titular characters dressing up as their favourite Doctors, from the First Doctor to the Fifteenth Doctor (excluding the War Doctor), with various jokes being made about the characters, such as how they regenerated and the resemblance between the Tenth and Fourteenth Doctors. As it turns out, they were supposed to dress up as their favourite doctors from history, not their favourite "Doctor Who". The cover of the issue also depicted several characters from the series in a shed painted blue labelled "TARDIS", which one of them remarks is "smaller on the inside?!".
