Christmas cheer[[edit source]]

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!

List of Doctor Who episodes[[edit source]]

I've reverted your edits to List of Doctor Who television stories for two reasons.

Thanks. Shambala108 06:40, February 14, 2014 (UTC)

To answer your questions:
  • It's a spoiler because series 8 hasn't aired yet. The policy is clear on that — nothing can be posted until it airs. Production information can change, so we prefer to concentrate on what's already happened, rather than what will happen. Also, if we put just the information you added, some new user will think it's ok to add episode titles as they are announced, which definitely violates the spoiler policy.
  • I'm reverting your edit back for now. You are correct that it's policy to leave the original while a discussion is under way (as it is now), but Tangerineduel's edit is the "original" because it was made six weeks ago.
There are two actions you can take from here. You can bring up a discussion on the article's talk page, and/or you can leave a message on User talk:Tangerineduel. Even if you start a discussion, I suggest you leave a note on TD's page. He's usually pretty good at patrolling the talk pages, but a note on his user page will definitely catch his attention.

The edits to the List of Doctor Who television stories were to bring consistency to the list with regard to our infobox listings, which have a number based on the overall number of stories going back to 1963. So there has been some consensus regarding the numbering as that's been in place on the every TV story page.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'being told in a different format'. This wiki covers them each as separate stories, and that's how they're more or less listed on the list of DW TV stories page (one exception is Trial of a Time Lord).
The individual story numbers per series of NewWho remains intact.
The length of time the edit was in place just means no one noticed it was incorrect. --Tangerineduel / talk 15:51, February 14, 2014 (UTC)
