Welcome to the Tardis:About TheOneMillionthDoctor

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask on my talk page. 23skidoo 22:22, November 13, 2016 (UTC)

Source editor[[edit source]]

I've notice that you edit a lot here.

Can I make a suggestion, when you add an Infobox to a page, would you be able to give source editor a try?

When you create, click on the arrow next to edit and click on source editor. Then look on the right hand side and you'll see a section that says "standard preloads".

Click on the correct one, fill in the blanks and then your page is set to sail.

Be sure to give it a try as when visual editor is used for Infoboxes, it ultimately means that it will need to be formatted and cleared up.

Best wishes and happy editing. DENCH-and-PALMER 22:35, December 30, 2016 (UTC)

Faulty edits[[edit source]]

Hey, it's SOTO, an admin here. I've noticed that a bunch of your edits using Visual Editor have messed up our pages. It hasn't just been you, of course, and we're trying to pinpoint what's been causing these massive glitches. It seems that this bug happens when you open source editing within Visual Editor, and then make a change (with VE?). Can you confirm this is what's happening on your end?

Relevant spoiler policy[[edit source]]

Hi, not as a criticism (we all violated some policy or other at first), but as a matter of friendly warning. One of the few policies one might get blocked for violating is T:SPOIL. And the definition of spoiler on this Wiki is completely different from what is usually called a "spoiler" in real life. So I highly recommend to peruse this policy. The upshot is that, until the official release by the original producer, no information about an episode, book, comic, or audio is allowed anywhere (except in some small quantity on the series page, in this case Series 10 (Doctor Who 2005)). Note that even in forums, we are not allowed to mention anything. The policy is so strict that once an admin deleted a link I posted because some information about a future story was contained at the destination of the link (!). So enjoy editing, and I can't wait till that story can be edited either. Amorkuz 23:49, January 14, 2017 (UTC)

Kill Count[[edit source]]

Hi, after erasing two of them, I've realised that your introduction of "Kill Count" subsections to character pages was not isolated. You seem to be be planning to add it to many (all?) character pages. I think such a global change requires community discussion. For one, I am vehemently opposed to it because it goes against the whole idea of the show. IMHO, this is a show about neither killing nor retribution. It does not make sense to count the kills or count the victims.

I am not, of course, the judge and jury. But this should be discussed among all editors before implementing because it determines how this Wiki is perceived by the world. Having a regular "Kill Count" section is a statement of intent, a statement of what is important on this Wiki. It should not be added lightly. Thank you for your attention. Block[[edit source]]

To follow the best practices and to extend the courtesy of a personal message, I will provide a more detailed explanation of the reasons for your block. Each site has its own spoiler policy, and ours is a promise that someone who came here to learn about the finer details of the most recent episode or any other information of their choosing---that such a reader will be safe from spoilers about the episode that is yet to be released. If they so choose, they can go to Series 10 (Doctor Who 2005), where they will be given an explict warning about spoilers ahead and only then would they be able to proceed. This gives readers a choice and control. It is the responsibility of the admin team to make sure that they are not disenfranchised from this control, whether intentionally or not. You have already been blocked for creating the page for the first episode of Series 10 before it was aired. As you can read in our blocking policy "blocks are preventive rather than punitive measures". Unfortunately, the first block failed to prevent you from repeating the violation. Worse than that, not only did you create a page for an episode that is yet to be aired, you also put a link to this episode to the the page of the most recent episode, which is usually one of the most actively edited page of the wiki. You have not attempted to come into contact with any of the admins to clarify the policy (or indeed apologise for their violation). Thus, demonstrably unable to rely on you following the policies of your own accord and upon failing to initiate a direct contact, I was forced to block you for a longer period of time. This period was chosen so that our readers can finish watching Series 10 undisturbed by spoilers they did not choose to unveil. After that you are welcome to return and edit, pursuing your unique interests within DWU. We value all editors in equal measure and hope that you will be able to find the right balance between your passion and our rules. Amorkuz 15:29, June 2, 2017 (UTC)
