Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!
We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:
- the listing of all our help, policy and guideline pages
- our Manual of Style
- our image use policy
- our user page policy
- a list of people whose job it is to help you
If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! — you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:
Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask on my talk page. -- CzechOut (Talk) 15:41, 2012 August 30
Recent editsedit source
Hi! You've been adding some great information to articles recently, but unfortunately I've had to fix a lot of your edits. I'm seeing a few problems that you might not be aware of:
- All story titles need to be italicized. You can read the details at Tardis:Italics.
- Infoboxes are meant to be short bursts of information that lead a reader to the rest of the article. We try to compress the amount of information to make the infobox as short as possible. Some of the things we don't want in infoboxes are line breaks or parenthetical information. You can read many forum discussions on infoboxes in the Panopticon Archives.
- Bold text is only to be used in the lead paragraph of an article (see Tardis:Bold text). When you put to be added in an article section it should be italicized.
- Some of the edits I fixed were mistyped links. Before you hit the "publish" button on your edits, I suggest you use the "preview" button. That way, you can see what needs to be fixed before the edit is published.
I can tell by your edits that you want to do good work, and hopefully this information can help you. Thanks! Shambala108 ☎ 05:27, November 19, 2012 (UTC)
Tenseedit source
Please keep in mind that on this wikia all articles must be written in past tense, with exceptions of Series 7 and such.
This is wrong:
- "The Doctor is captured..."
This is right:
- "The Doctor was captured..."
Happy editing! :) OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 14:56, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

Italics againedit source
Hi! You've added a lot of good information to the Fourth Doctor and Fifth Doctor pages, and I was going to let you know that you need to add italics to the story titles. But I noticed that, at the top of your talk page, I already gave you this information several months ago. So now I will repeat, please put all story titles in italics, per Tardis:Italics. Shambala108 ☎ 23:51, February 16, 2013 (UTC)
Third tryedit source
It's been several days since Ottselspy25 and I have asked you to use italics for story titles. However, you are still leaving them off your contributions to the various Doctor pages. So, for the third time, I am asking you to visit Tardis:Italics to learn this wiki's rules on italicized story titles. Shambala108 ☎ 18:39, February 21, 2013 (UTC)
Blockedit source
Gotta give you a short block for your changing of the pic at Tenth Doctor. Since you deleted the remarks clearly stating that changing of the image would require community discussion, you are deemed to have read that statement, and to have deliberately acted contrary to it. Please pay attention to non-printing remarks in future, as they are often written by admin who are trying to alert you to things that are not obvious by just reading that particular page. Your block will last for about another day.

Tenth Doctor talk pageedit source
Hi! Please do not put a new message at the top of a talk page, as you did at Talk:Tenth Doctor. New messages go at the bottom of the topic. This allows for a more readable flow of discussion.
Also, you must sign your name with four of these things: ~ with no spaces in between. Thanks. Shambala108 ☎ 15:29, May 8, 2013 (UTC)
"The"edit source
Hi! Please familiarize yourself with Tardis:Capital letters. Basically, we don't capitalize "the" unless it starts a sentence. Unfortunately, this means that if you use auto-suggest for something like The Face of Boe, you will have to change the capital "T" to a lower case "t". Please note that you do not have to pipe-switch. Thanks! Shambala108 ☎ 20:12, May 22, 2013 (UTC)
Tenth Doctor leadedit source
Please do not remove the following information from the lead paragraph of Tenth Doctor:
- The Tenth Doctor was, as identified by UNIT Australia's Captain Kath Braxton, the tenth incarnation of the renegade Time Lord known as the Doctor. (COMIC: The Age of Ice)
This statement gives a source for one of the more controversial topics on the wiki and is valid information. You have removed it three times without even giving a reason in the edit summary.
Based on my past experiences in communicating with you, please leave a message on my talk page so I know you received this message. Shambala108 ☎ 15:36, June 5, 2013 (UTC)
Info box imagesedit source
I have reverted your recent edits of infobox images . We have specific guidelines for infobox images, which you can read here. Please do not change any more infobox images until you have read and familiarized yourself with the guidelines. Shambala108 ☎ 14:18, June 19, 2013 (UTC)
Christmas cheeredit source
As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.
This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!
We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.
2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
Sarah Jane Smithedit source
Hi! I had to undo your edit at Sarah Jane Smith, for an unusual reason. You obviously typed all the info out on a word document of some sort, then copy/pasted it to the wiki. However, when you do that, the marks that italicize titles don't carry over to the wiki. As a result, none of the stories you cited were italicized, and it's just too hard to go through the entire page and correct it all. Please re-add the information, but this time, change your pasted version's apostrophes to the wiki's version so the italics will work. Thanks! Shambala108 ☎ 01:45, September 26, 2015 (UTC)
Blockedit source
As you probably expect, you've been banned from this wiki, for the double violation of Tardis:Vandalism policy and Tardis:No personal attacks. Shambala108 ☎ 19:34, September 26, 2015 (UTC)
