Vala

Vala the Herborist was a legendary Sun Builder. On Gendar, a planet whose inhabitants worshipped the Sun Builders as gods, she was considered one of the more important deities, alongside Urizen the Architect, Epsilon the Watcher, and a Trickster God of many names. Maxie Masters mentioned this fact to Giles. (PROSE: Out of the Box)

Behind the scenes

Like Urizen, the goddess Vala is a public domain figure, originating in the works of William Blake. She is Urizen's mother and a personification of nature. "Herborist", the epithet given in Out of the Box for Vala, is a dated synonym for "herbalist", emphasising Vala's connection to the natural world.
