No, it's not an opinion of the journalist, it's a fact, one they specifically backed up with a citation. Again, it's about the tech INSOFAR AS THIS IS SAID TO BE WHY THE TECH WAS CHOSEN FOR THE GAME. So it's relevant to the game in the same sense that commenting on the motivations on creatives for other stories is relevant.

This is still an off-hand remark about the tech, not the game itself and the reporter stating her opinion. If it were a direct reason why the game itself has encountered problems, then it'd be worth mentioning. Also, the article has been removed so replacing link with an archive.

But it was specifically touted as one of the reasons they used blockchain technology, as stated in the main body of the article. Hence why I included it.

The game is now in open beta, I think this probably passes T:SPOIL. (Note, technically it's not even a T:SPOIL violation in the first place since this isn't a story, so the rule doesn't apply. Please discuss on talk page before deleting.)
