Manisha Purkayastha was a friend of Ace who was wounded in a firebombing by racists circa 1983. Enraged by this, Ace burned down Gabriel Chase. (DW: Ghost Light)

Accounts differ as to whether she "nearly" (NA: Timewyrm: Apocalypse) or actually did (NA: Blood Heat) die.
