Lady Madge Cranleigh was the mother of George and Charles Cranleigh. He loved her sons dearly and wished not to let bad publicity happen to her family. So, when George was brought back from his last expidtion horribly scarred and insane, she had him confined to the uppe levels of the house under the guardianship of the indian who brought him back hoom. She was willing to let the Doctor take the blame from George's murders, but was found out in the end when George when too far and kidnapped Nyssa instead of Ann. (DW: Black Orchid)
