Small, purple creatures with large eyes, a reptilian tongue and trunk-like arms attempted an invasion of Earth in 2012. Landing in Los Angeles these shapeshifters set up a base in the Cauldron clinic after capturing and assuming the identity of Doctor Cauldron there, under the pretence of curing the common cold, more bodies (or patients), were captured and stored in hibernation pods. When the pods were unplugged by Amy Pond the alien invaders were exposed and rounded up by the Doctor who sent them on a pre-determined course far away from Earth in their spacecraft.
