Clive Merrison is a Welsh actor who appeared in the Doctor Who serials The Tomb of the Cybermen and Paradise Towers as Jim Callum and the Deputy Chief Caretaker respectively.

Merrison has had several recurring roles on television, e.g. Reilly: Ace of Spies (as Boris the Russian), Kit Curran (as Damien Appleby) and The Borgias (as Ascanio Forza). One-off appearances include the likes of Yes, Prime Minister, Foyle's War, The Bill and Peep Show.

Merrison's theatre appearances include: The Madness of George III at the Royal National Theatre, The Front Page at the Old Vic and Much Ado About Nothing for the Royal Shakespeare Company.[1]

On radio he has played Sherlock Holmes, a role played in other media by Peter Cushing, Tom Baker and Nicholas Briggs. (He is said to be the the only actor to have portrayed the character in the entire Conan Doyle canon of "Sherlock Holmes" stories.)

He also played the character "Tanaka" in a radio adaptation of the James Bond novel, "You Ony Live Twice", which starred Michael Jayston as Bond.[2]
