The Controller of Alvega was a huge vegetal life-form living deep beneath the planet, but connected to the surface plants via roots. It resisted the Daleks' attempts to conquer its world, and ordered the Amarylls to fight back. Eventually, all but one Dalek was destroyed, and when this Dalek destroyed the Controller, the planet exploded. (DC: The Amaryll Challenge)
