The plural of Cyclops is Cyclopes, and it is these giant one-eyed creatures found on Earth in the times of Ancient Greece and briefly encountered by the Doctor and companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams,that inspired the tales of the Greek heroes as recorded in epic poems of the time.
