Nicholas Smith (born 5 March 1934 in Banstead, Surrey, England) played Wells in the Doctor Who story The Dalek Invasion of Earth.

He is much more famous for playing Mr. Rumbold on the long-running British sitcom, Are You Being Served? and its sequel.
