The plural of Cyclops is Cyclopes and it was these giant, one-eyed creatures, found on Earth in the times of Ancient Greece and briefly encountered by the Doctor and companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams, which inspired the tales of the Greek heroes, as recorded in epic poems of the time.
