Brenda was attending her son's (Rhys Williams and her near an nough daughter in laws Gwen Cooper wedding. She didn't really like Gwen Coopers mum Mary Cooper but later when they where drugged by Torchwood slept on Mary Cooper. When the Nostrovite needed another disguise she copied Brenda Williams.
