Going through the articles, I'm finding disambiguation pages with only two articles listed which I believe isn't necessary. If there's only two then with the method we already have where we just add a note at the top saying for example :''This article is about the comic. For the television story with the same name, see [[ ]]'' and the same on the other article vice versa. We should only create disambiguation pages if there's 3 or more articles with the same or similar title. That's why I think we should have somewhere stating this and any that only list at the 2 or less need to be deleted. --Vitas 22:35, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

  • So where would the main term link to? Taking The Lodger, would it lead to the comic, which came first, or the television episode, which is the main format? I know we're not wikipedia, but we do sometimes base our policies on theirs depending on what it is. For that reason, I'm bringing up the fact wikipedia say that if it is a single name of more than one topic, it should have a disambiguation page. I think they should stay. --The Thirteenth Doctor 22:45, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
I agree with The Thirteenth Doctor.
Disambiguation policy wise is stated with regards to in-universe names in the manual of style, but it will get its own section / policy page to specify this. --Tangerineduel 05:26, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

Archivist's notes[[edit source]]

The policy that arose from this is, unsurprisingly, our disambiguation policy.
