Time Placement
Where do we get that this comes after The Girl Who Never Was? I don't recall anything in the narrative of either that leads to this assumption. I don't recall Charley being mentioned in any of the New Eighth Doctor Adventures, so all these Lucie stories could just as easily be preceded by the television movie. I would say the simple fact that this the doctors companion in The Girl Who Never Was leaves and this is the next eighth doctor release from big finish the only reason it is seperate from the main series is BBC7 co produced it and thus reverted the format back to seasons insted of twelve a year as before.
Failing that the Chronological Placement on the big finish website should be enough See exerpt below:
"This story takes place after the 1996 Doctor Who TV Movie and after the Eight Doctor's adventures with Charley Pollard."

- It's a bit of a guess. It's based on what Dark Lord Xander says, but also the mood and reaction to Lucie. The Doctor is less 'bouncy' and up beat as he is post TVM, the reaction to Lucie popping up fits more with the departure of Charley Pollard. As with placing a lot of the stories much of it is down to guess work based on the characters and the stories and sometimes there isn't a definite exact match. --Tangerineduel 15:51, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- So they finally did pin it down, did they? When these things were first released, the BF site didn't say anything about when they were to be placed. Beyond the Vortex was silent on the matter. At the time of the released. BF were distinctly cagey about where they went, and avoided discussion of "where they went". But now, as you say, the website does read "after adventures with Charlie". Of course, it's still a completely valid thing to say that, narratively, there's nothing explicit that makes it so. I don't really accept Tangerineduel's read of the play that "the Doctor is less 'bouncy' and up beat as he is post TVM", because there IS no "post TVM" Eighth Doctor for us to look at. From the narrative itself, the first scene of Blood of the Daleks could just as easily follow from the last scene of the TVM. Lucie's unconventional arrival onboard the TARDIS could be the very problem with the TARDIS console that forces the Eighth Doctor to stop reading The Time Machine.
