Gallifreyan

The Gallifreyans are a humanoid species native to the planet Gallifrey. The oligarchic rulers of the species are the Time Lords. The term "Gallifreyan" is often used interchangeably with "Time Lord," despite indications that not all Gallifreyans are members of that august society, and the fact that Gallifrey and Gallifreyans existed for eons before the time of Rassilon. Externally, Gallifreyans are identical to humans. They presumably have all of the same biological traits as the Time Lords, such as two hearts, the power of regeneration and respiratory bypass system. The Gallifreyans were the first sentient beings in this universe. As a result their evolutionary pattern was imprinted on the universe's morphic field, making the development of humanoids far more likely.
