• The Doctor gives Hans Christian Andersen the idea for the story of "The Emperor's New Clothes" ("The Romans").

• The Doctor is present at the coronation of Queen Victoria ("The Curse of Peladon"). The Tenth Doctor and Rose meet her again during the events of Tooth and Claw in 1879.
