Talk:The Lodger

Why is this blank?[[edit source]]
This is the accurate name of an episode, and yet typing it in takes me to a blank page. This seems like, not right. Why isn't there at least a redirect or a disambig, if not the article itself?{{SUBST:KrytenKoroSig}} 06:46, February 6, 2013 (UTC) – The preceding unsigned comment was added by KrytenKoro (talk • contribs) .
- It's because there are two stories with the name "The Lodger", that is, The Lodger (TV story) and The Lodger (comic story). There's no redirect because which one would you redirect to? This wiki treats all media the same, so there would be no preference for one over the other. Shambala108 ☎ 06:55, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
- The options, then, are to pick the first and have a youmay to the other, pick the most popular and have a youmay to the other, or create this page as a disambig. Any of these are better than having the page be a big wet "you're SOL" to people who look for the exact title.07:03, February 6, 2013 (UTC) – The preceding unsigned comment was added by KrytenKoro (talk • contribs) .
- I tend to agree, KrytenKoro, but that goes against our current policy. According to T:DAB RULES, "disambig pages consisting of just two items are actually considered, on balance, unhelpful." I'm not sure that's correct, for the very reason that you point out here — some people may try to reach the page by simply typing in the URL. But we'd have to have a discussion about that at the Panopticon before we could make that change to the rules. Feel free to start the discussion yourself! —Josiah Rowe ☎ 07:12, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
