Hey all :) If you need help with anything, please ask, below. The page tends to fill up quickly, so I've got a lot of archives. I try not to archive discussions that are ongoing, but sometimes it unfortunately happens. Gimme a second shout if I've not answered your question!

This page is also available in Bulgarian, German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Hebrew and Russian.

If you've come here to request a simple, uncontroversial page move, please consider using {{speedy rename}} instead. This puts all rename requests into a neat little chart that all admin can see and work on.

Image question

Hi! I had to delete some images uploaded by a new user, and he had some questions that I think you can answer better than I can. If you can get back to me on this, I can get back to him. Thanks! Shambala108 14:53, July 12, 2013 (UTC)

Here is his original message to me:

Hi, thank you for your answer. Is the problem the image format? PNG is simply the optimal format for screenshots of a pixel-art videogame. While I understand the need of JPG for screenshots from the TV series, maybe the rule should consider the (rare) exceptions of Doctor Who old video games. Anyway, I'll just reuploaded them (and the GIF screenshot that I didn't upload but that went away too) as JPGs. They'll take more space and show artefacts but if it's necessary… Is that ok? I read the rest of the guidelines and everything seemed fine. Best, -- Nicolas ☎ 01:10, July 12, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick reply. So I can restore one of the .pngs that we deleted? Or should I have User:Nclm re-upload it? Shambala108 17:37, July 12, 2013 (UTC)

Years

Yeah, I noticed from all the emails I'm getting from the bot edits. Sorry, I couldn't resist cleaning up 1967 a bit! ;)

Do you want me to help with getting all the info on the right pages? I mean just splitting. I was planning on knocking off a good amount of releases and putting them in days, but I could easily do 44 years in, ooh, not so long. And I can get to releases too. I can just put myself on automatic and complete all those at once if you want. After doing that for all 365 days, I think I can manage 44! --SOTO 03:24, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, you didn't respond so I figured what the hell — I did until 1980. Not really cleaning up, as that would make it take more than double the time. Better to do it in stages, rather than wasting all your energy on each year. I must say I underestimated the work — it is much more difficult and time-consuming than it appears. I'll give it that.
Anyway, just a gentle bit of help. If you really do need any, I'm usually available and so used to manual labour from my day project that I don't mind doing the same with years. Just... give me a ring.
In the meantime, I'll go back to filling up in-universe pages. I'm going through Time and Relative first, as Susan dates her diary entries. I've got a few other books with lots of dates to go through, then I guess I'll order more. This is good for me; I've been meaning to expand my Who library for a while!
