• 20 - Louise Jameson, who portrayed companion Leela, is born at Wanstead, London.

• 28 - Lalla Ward, who portrayed Princess Astra in "The Armageddon Factor" before assuming the role of Romana, is born Lady Sarah Ward, daughter of Lord Bangor, in London.
