A little boy was taking a bath by himself for the first time. He was scared, but heard a reassuring voice outside the door.
Later, the little boy was playing outside. Everyone else was inside, watching Neil Armstrong walk on the Moon on television. The boy met a man in the field, who, after they talked briefly about cows, told him he should go back home to tell his parents where he was. The boy obeyed, but was hit by a car on the way home. His legs were permanently damaged.
The Doctor went back in time to prevent himself from speaking to the little boy, and hours later he, Jamie McCrimmon and Zoe Heriot watched as the boy and his parents went to the beach for a barbecue. (PROSE: One Small Step...)
